I have to say though the scary vamps (the Strigoi) weren't as scary to me now that I've watched way too much Walking Dead. robgirlbookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03398614063792587098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2335622942047923783.post-2150036015500222292014-02-12T14:10:11.764-08:002014-02-12T14:10:11.764-08:00Thanks Tilly! How do you decide what wonderful parts of the story should be cut? Rose shines in the movie. She's smaller than my version of Rose, and thinner too, but the humor is all there. I really hope you enjoy it when it finally hits the UK. Oh and Mason is a redhead in the movie. Was he a redhead in the book? He's a tall dark haired cutie in my head.

I did enjoy this adaptation more than a lot of the movies that have been coming out in the last couple years. Harry Potter did it best. Can't everyone just copy how they did it?robgirlbookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03398614063792587098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2335622942047923783.post-57912707433577541482014-02-12T12:58:23.397-08:002014-02-12T12:58:23.397-08:00I'M A DIE HARD FAN! I've been hearing mixed reviews and I'm a little cautious after all the other YA film adaptation fails. Rose is the most important thing for me, so it's amazing to hear that she nails it!! Lissa annoyed me in the book as well so I'm not expecting much.
Great review and CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW BOOK!! :DAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03980656592819266422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2335622942047923783.post-55013561487673902942014-02-10T13:30:29.842-08:002014-02-10T13:30:29.842-08:00Oh, yes! I remember seeing the Catching Fire preview with my daughter, my friend, and her niece, and we were all like jumping up and down in our seats, lol. I'm sure we got some strange looks.

Hahahahah, "unless you consider hostility an accent." Never thought of thought of that - I think it is, bahahahaha! They sometimes give me the glossed over "she's talking about her blog again" look, but I laugh all over again explaining!

We are in total agreement with the movie! My Dimitri is taller and Christian looks and sounds completely different. And I could have used a few more Rose and Dimitri scenes. Still it was a lot of fun and I can see myself watching it when it comes to DVD. I loved Rose and although my Dimitri is a lot taller, I thought he was cast well. And he did dominate his scenes. My Christian is a lot hotter and angstier than the guy they cast but he's growing on me. :) And yeah, Lissa was annoying at times but I,too, was annoyed by her in the books...until she kinda grew a pair! *ha* I actually liked VA better on first seeing it than I did Twilight...so there's that. I think VA is movie that book fans will enjoy - despite the fact that they could have added in some stuff and maybe not changed some others...don't know if people who haven't read the books will like it or not.

Book boyfriend monger, huh??? You know I can see when you talk about me, right?? ;) And I share...begrudgingly, but I do. ;)Bookworm Brandeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15834408515209743135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2335622942047923783.post-47699795224761016772014-02-09T13:27:01.082-08:002014-02-09T13:27:01.082-08:00She already saw it twice?! One of the best aspects to the books is the pacing. There's such a slow build with the suspense and especially the romance. It's near impossible for a movie to give us that without boring us. I enjoyed this book to movie adaptation better than all the other recent ventures, Beautiful Creatures, The Host, Mortal Instruments. Have you seen any of those?robgirlbookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03398614063792587098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2335622942047923783.post-74699450270894955972014-02-09T08:21:05.606-08:002014-02-09T08:21:05.606-08:00YAY Robyn :) One of my other bookish friends has a...YAY Robyn :) One of my other bookish friends has already watched it twice, she loved it so much.
