When life's kicking your butt, how about a theme song? Movie trailers have the best songs!

Happy October! I drive by a park on my way to work with the best trees for fall. Tall and ancient, standing stoically beautiful in a tight traffic zone. Last week the colors took my breath away and had me daydreaming at the start of my day. So I think it's time for a wistful dreamy kind of song. The second I heard it during a preview for the movie Pan, I was hooked (haha, get it, hooked, Peter Pan). Here's I Believe by Christina Perri.

  1. I didn't know this song was on the Pan soundtrack but I'm hooked, too. ;) I'm listening to it right now while Sky and Jax are sitting at the table with me. I told them we're so bad...it's another month and we forgot songs for last month...again. But maybe we can do something for this month's theme. Hopefully...ping me so I don't forget. ;) *hahaha* Is it just me or does Christina's voice sound a little like Alanis Morrisette's? Anyway, I like the song! Yay for fall and fall colors.... <3 <3 psst...11 more days...

    1. There is no pressure getting a theme song post out. It took me a week to reply to your message. Bad blogger girl. I love this song. She's singing straight from my heart. You'll get to see our fall colors so freaking soon!!!

  2. LOL, Robyn! I love your pun, you know I enjoy puns most of the time, and this one was just excellent.
I hadn't heard this song before, as I'm not a huge Perri fan, but it's a good song :)
I hope you're doing well. I'm so busy, I hardly have time to stop by and say 'hi' to my favorite bloggers these days. I miss you!!

    1. You're a pun girl too? My dad is famous for them in our family and if everyone else hasn't given him the much deserved laugh, he calls me because I'll laugh for sure. I hope you get some time to do nothing but have your computer, book, and music to choose from. I know you'll have a hard time choosing.

I miss you too. I hope you have a great week Lexxie!

    2. I haven't been able to keep up with the music posts, unfortunately, but I recently went to a concert with my oldest daughter, to see The Cat Empire, an Australian band. They were totally amazing, and I have many of their songs on my mind these days :)

    3. That's awesome! I haven't been to a concert in over a decade. But I can imagine how much fun I'd have with my youngest. He loves to rock it out. He couldn't be more adorable.

  3. Oh, Robyn!!! What an amazing song!!

I'm thinking of tall and ancient trees and brown, wet, fallen leaves on the pavement.

    Thank you for sharing.
    Miss you around here!

    1. Athina! How are you? How is the writing/editing going? Are you swimming in the feel of autumn? It's very slow going for me. I haven't found the balance yet. This song is amazing, isn't? Did you finish the fever series? See, I've been away too long. I have all these catch-up questions!

      Happy flying!

    2. Hey! I'm okay. Rewriting is like rain these days. Some times you can hardly see the raindrops while some others you get soaked!

Yep, I read Fever but not after Shadow Fever. It was good, but I'm not sure if I want to read more now that Mac is in a good place.

It's great that you're working on something, Robyn, even if it's slow going. It's a Maggie Lane book?

    3. I can see stopping where you're at with the Fever series because I think Moning is the type of author who gives you what you want for a blink and then takes it away! I don't want her to take Mac and Barrons away from me.

I'm not working on Maggie yet. I am ready to kill my darlings, but sometimes I get gory for no good reason and I've torn through it until there's no life left. But I think I have a workable system so I feel that writer high just getting to actually work on my writing. You know how that feels.

Happy flying Athina! Oh, I just read your Jo Nesbo-Police review! Good stuff!!!

  4. Oh I didn't know you put one up this month! I love these posts. I still have a week or two to come up with something though. The song you shared is beautiful!! I really enjoyed it and don't think I've heard it before.

    1. I love the Lana Del Ray song you chose. What would we do without music, Jaclyn? Every day a different song on the drive to work has me singing that tune when I start my day. I hope you have a great week!
