Sidekick Showcase [37] Creepy!!

This week's sidekick is CREEPY, and I had no idea who to pick until one name came to me. Eve's little jerk brother Jason Rosser. I'm talking Rachel Caine's Morganville series here. From the moment Jason skulks around the hot, dusty Texas town, you want him to stumble upon a scary vamp and get good and drained. I never liked him. Once or twice I felt a twinge of compassion. I hoped he would be this big turnaround character for Eve's sake, which only speaks to my unhealthy attachment to this series. Maybe there's hope for him because I can't remember what his character is up to. Every time I think about him, I see flashes of all the crap he's pulled over the years. As for casting someone to play his role, imagine a scrawny, blond, filthy, crazy-eyed, barely-past-puberty punk kid, with stick legs and long bony hands. The last two are all me, but that's the Jason in my mind.

“Michael, don’t,” Eve said. “He won’t hurt us.” And everyone rolled their eyes at that. Even Jason, which was borderline hilarious.”

Jason talking about Michael -
"Don't do me any favors, Glass Ass," Jason snapped.”

Sidekick Showcase, previously known as Sidekick Saturday, is a weekly bookish meme, hosted here by Jaclyn at JC's Book Haven. There are many secondary characters that are as great as the primaries. In some cases, the sidekicks actually steal the show and you like them better than the heroine or hero. Maybe they didn't have enough page time for how great they were. Anyone can play along! I will post my Sidekicks on Saturday, then whichever day during the week that you would like to post yours, you can put your link in on my page. Just do the following:
• Choose a sidekick *or someone other than the hero or heroine* that you would like to put in the spotlight that fit's in the week's topic
• Share a picture (if you can) and information about the character
• Give the title and author of a book the character can be found in
• Please don't include too many spoilers when describing why the character is such a great sidekick
• The day of your post, put your link in below and grab the code for your post so you can see the others that post their's throughout the week as well

  1. LOL Eve's little jerk brother? So appropriate, though, Jason really is a jerk :) Good choice, Robyn.
I still have Daylighters on my TBR, I don't want to read it yet, because it's the last in the series and I don't want it to end.
I hope you're having a good weekend Robyn.

    1. I am the exact same way! At least there are two comforting things in the madness that is Morganville ending. One, we have the web series coming up. Two, Caine will give us something new to sink our teeth into. I bet you still beat me to reading Daylighters! I'm just so worried about everyone. How will I not cheat when I get my hands on the book?

I hope you're having a good weekend too, Lexxie!

  2. OOOOH what an excellent pick. He's super creepy!! From the moment he comes on the scene, I think he even creeps himself out LOL I definitely wouldn't be friends with him and the term 'creeper' would be applied. Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.

    1. You're totally right. I think he's freaked himself out a few times. What a creep! I rooted for him a few times, but most of the time I just wanted to clock him. I wonder what Caine will do with is character.
