Think Out Loud [33] The Boy Who Saved Christmas (sort of)

A couple days ago John put on his most solemn face.
"Mom, is Santa Claus real?"
"Do you think he's real?" I asked.
"Um, no. I don't think so. Dad says he isn't."
"No, your daddy did not say that."
"Okay, you're right. Is he real?"
"Well, Santa means different things for-"
"Will, is Santa real?"
"Of course he is! We saw Santa at the mall last year."
John sat on that for a few seconds.
"Okay, okay. I was wrong. He's real."
And all was right in his world...until this morning when he told me Santa wasn't real but the Easter Bunny definetely was.

Happy Thanksgiving. I am so very thankful for the friendships forged in this awesome world of blogging, fangirling, and ranting. You all rock!

    1. My mom used to tell me the shiny tracks snails left behind on the sidewalks were the Tooth Fairy's footprints. I completely believed her. John is so excited to lose a tooth. He just told me today he was going to keep his eyes open the whole night. None of his teeth are even loose yet and he already planning. Poor Santa gets all the scrutiny. (They are pretty adorable, thanks!)

  3. My answer really only can go towards what my personal belief is! And I totally believe Santa is real! He probably has so many helpers I can't even count that high, but he's out there. He sometimes even knows what I'd like for Christmas before I know it myself, and somehow manages to get me the perfect Christmas gift I never asked for :)

*hugs* I'm thankful for all my fellow bloggers today! You gals are so awesome there are no words to describe you!

    1. After Will said without hesitation that Santa was real I realized the right answer. Of course he's real! No need to get all philosophical about it.

We all are pretty awesome. I already feel lucky loving reading so much, but then to discover this awesome blogger world, it's just too cool.

    1. Just like I love reading about your adventures with your kids. I told John about the birthday party and the TMNT plates and he said he wanted to meet Jack. It was so cute.

Bloggers are the only ones who really understand how neat this world is and the kinds of friendships forged over chats about books and life.

    1. Thanks for that, Think. They are adorable and smart. I love chatting with them even though Will mostly talks about his computer games and John tries to incorporate the words butt and poo in as many sentences as possible.

  6. Yay for John! LOL I loved reading this, Robyn. I really laughed at John believing Will over you...if Will says so, it must be true. *ha* You know, my kids STILL haven't asked me about Santa. I think the girls play along for their brother, though. Did you just wanna roll in the floor the next morning? The Easter Bunny...really?? Have y'all see Rise of the Guardians? You know I don't watch many movies, but my mom got this for the kids and I LOVED IT! It'll make John believe. :)

I hope you lots of pie and ice cream on Thanksgiving! <3

    1. I think Rise of the Guardians is why John believes in the Easter Bunny. That was his favorite character in the movies. He likes cranky heroes. This will probably be John's last year believing any of that stuff. He's so dang practical and logical. I just hope he can leave his brother's dreamy personality be.

I had lots of pie. Little turkey and all that, but two slices of pie. And so much dang football. Seriously. Then the rest of the weekend was college ball. Oh my goodness! I think I'm starting to like it. I've very depressed right now.
