When life's kicking your butt, how about a theme song? [15] The perfect song for that book!

March is here. Impossible! My oldest starts up Special Olympics swimming this month and my youngest will continue with his art classes. My list is filled with author girl goals and find my spirit goals and hopefully wake up early and workout goals. What's your March look like? Whether you're just going to sit back and enjoy the cherry trees blossoming or you plan to kick your butt into action, how about doing all that to music? This month we're tapping books for inspiration.

Into the Mystic drops me into the book Slammed by Colleen Hoover. There's a part of the song where I can see the main characters dancing together, not giving into the temptation of crossing the line, but unable to resist having this one moment that says everything. Great freaking song.

Give Into Me from the movie Country Strong is so the book The Gamble by Kristen Ashley. I don't want to say anything about the book because I'm buddy reading it with Brandee only I accidentally read it before her. I'm a bad buddy, but awesome book and song, right?

  1. I feel like I was just asking myself where January went, and now here it is March! I haven't read either book yet, even though I've owned Slammed for a long time, lol. Awesome picks! And thanks to your buddy reading with Brandee, I bought the first book in the Rock Chick series. SO excited to start that. One of the series at the top of my list to start this year.

  2. It is the perfect cure for a reading slump because it is so much fun. Feel free to chat me up about it. The men in that series. The girls! The poetry in Slammed is neato. That was my favorite part.

It's already March. Holy freaking cow! You know how you look forward to something in the future but tell yourself not to look forward to it because you have so much to do between now and then? That's everyday. There's so much to do and I feel like I'm going in slow motion.

Hey, your Inquisitor articles are going great!! You write about stuff I want to hear about that is (cool) news to me.

  3. Yeah, i can't figure out where the first two months of 2015 went. But March is here and you know what that means? 29 days till you're HERE! I might be a little excited. Okay, Into the Mystic is a great song for Will and Lake. I'm in love with Max so I'm thinking Give into Me works well. You so are not a bad buddy reader...we just didn't or sucks in a row. Well, i didn't anyway. But I'm loving The Gamble. There's just something about KA, right? Gotta get my post done. My kids are wanting to cheat and use music from movies based on books. I'm not letting them. :)

    1. All it means is that I have to read The Gamble again so my comments with you are fresh from memory. What a hardship. Give into me is totally Max and Nina. But I was thinking a fast kick ass song too. They're both ready to brawl all the time. I can't believe I'll be there so soon! Yay! There's no cheating in theme song picking! You tell them I'm putting my foot down. Just so you now I'm cracking myself up right now.

    1. The energy of Slammed rocks. It's emotional but also beautiful. The poetry really is a great element.

I want more time too. Always. So I can sleep, write, play, and work but without being so pooped!

Happy March right back at you!!

  5. YAY for swimming. I just love it :D I'm not a huge country music listener since that's all that my mom played while I was growing up, but I adore Give Into Me so much. There is a lot of emotion in that song, and it pulls at my heart strings. I hope you're doing great!!

    1. I can't wait to see Will really break into swimming. We tried lessons all last summer but most of the teachers didn't know what to do with him and it broke my heart. Now he gets one on one until May! Isn't Give Into me so neato? So emotional, it just reaches inside. I'm not much of a country girl either. It might surprise you, but country was not all that popular on Guam when I was a kid. hehe
