5. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can
6. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers
7. If you want to show the link list, just follow the link below the entries and copy and paste it within your post!
With the fade out of the google readers, I would love it if you considered following me through google+ or Network Blogs, but I'm happy with GFC too! If you get a chance, look around. There are fun kid quotes on the sidebar and a couple cool memes, Think Out Loud and Sidekick Saturdays. Thanks for stopping by!
This week's question is: What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?
Give me romance! Even in my mystery novels, my favorite books are the ones with more romance in them. When I was reading the Sookie Stackhouse series, a few of the books were light on heat. When I finished the read, I shook the book like shaking a person's shoulders, "You couldn't do it at least one time!?"

    1. Thanks for hitting me up on Networked Blogs, all that white space is so sad! Nothing like romance to push a story along. Happy Friday!

  2. Haha! Shaking a book sounds like fun. I love to read good detective novels, especially the ones with a sick, twisted villain and a great, perceptive protagonist. I don’t really feel guilty about reading them, though.

    Happy Friday! :)

    1. I think we left our comments on each others blogs at the same time! Funny. Yeah, I don't feel too guilty about my choices either, only how late I stay up reading. When I wake up with a book hangover I know I've been bad.

  4. I felt the same way about the Sookie books. I mean ... they're Paranormal Romance not just paranormal. I get that she can be a strong independent woman and all but ... Eric. Or Sam. Or someone. She's surrounded by so many willing hot guys.

  7. I love my books with a little bit of mystery and romance. I don't know...maybe I'm the odd ball out, but some books have way too much sexy time and get in the way of the plot (wait you're going to do it NOW when there's a killer on the loose?). Then there's the ones that have sexual tension the entire book and then there's one scene and you're left saying, "that's it?"

    1. LOL! You're totally right. "A serial killer is somewhere in the house, but let's get in on, and not quickly either. I'm taking my time with you, baby." That sort of thing is ice cold water all over your read. And the reverse is so maddening. "We got the bad guy. We're hot for each other, but let's just give each other smoldering looks...the end." Jessica, thanks for stopping by, you made me laugh!

  8. Lol I like romance but I don't want too many details. I'm very shy and quiet so I'm not comfortable reading very explicit things. I'm okay knowing they love each other and if they do end up doing it, most of they do, just knowing it happened it's fine by me.

    1. Ah, yes. I like the subtle approach. I'm actually shy too. I tried writing erotica...couldn't do it. But I do like those steamy scenes.

  10. Hahaha I love your reaction! I love a good hot scene too, but depends on the audience! I haven't read NA yet, I'm more partial to YA and Historical Romance, but I've been meaning to!

  11. Ha! I'm actually the opposite of you. I rather it focus more on other things than the romance. Not that I don't want some romance - by all means add a love interest somewhere in the story - but I never like it being the focus. To each their own I guess ;)

    1. I love the difference between all us book lovers. It is refreshing to fall in love with a read that has nothing to do how hot the characters are. I just finished Guitar Notes and I loved it! No sex, no swearing, no smoldering eyes.

  12. Hehe...you are right. One time is necessary!:)
My guilt is that I want actions and killings. If a book doesn't have both of these...it's not for me!:)

    1. Oh, I like action too. I'm greedy I guess. I want it all. Sometimes in a romance it feels like something bad is going to happen and it turns out all the strife is just emotional baggage...grrh. That's when I need someone good and bloody. Thanks for stopping by!

  25. I love a good romance scene in my books as well. Especially with a side of paranormal. It's not an element that I have to have though because I enjoy middle grade reads too with just crushes and budding relationships. I like a mixture of all. Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven

  26. I couldn't get past the first novels on Sookie's series, but I agree with you: romances are always a guilty pleasure :) However, I think for me chick-lit is more guilty pleasure than just romance--I know it's full of it, and I know it's gonna be predictable to death, but I just can't help myself and read it LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. I can't help myself either! Sookie took a certain mood for me. And I had to stop when I saw certain things on the horizon. Thanks for stopping by and we'll both happily dive into our guilty pleasures not feeling real guilty about it. I love contemporary romance too!
