Sidekick Saturday [18] Bad Guy Turned Good! (no spoilers-promise)

Sidekick Saturday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Jaclyn at JC's Book Haven. There are many secondary characters that are as great as the primaries. In some cases, the sidekicks actually steal the show and you like them better than the heroine or hero. Maybe they didn't have enough page time for how great they were. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Choose a sidekick *or someone other than the hero or heroine* that you would like to put in the spotlight that fits in this week's type
• Share a picture and information about the character
• Give the title and author of a book the character can be found in
• Please don't include too many spoilers when describing why the character is such a great sidekick
• Put your link in the Linky thing and comment

Jaclyn picked a doozie for this week's Sidekick Saturday challenge. I can't read her pick or Lexxie's or Aussie Bookworm's! So here's my bad guy turned good. No spoilers-promise.

Tony Giodone from the Tales of Sazi books by C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp (now the team go by Cat Adams) is a hitman for the mob turned werewolf. He meets Sue Quentin and decides to make his life more complicated by falling in love with a complete innocent. This is a straight up paranormal romance series. Sue verges on being wussy, but there is still something about her I find compelling. Tony's POV is sometimes shocking, which I guess is the draw. The Sazi books tend to conform to a bit of old school romance storytelling, and I still love this series. Tony is a jerk. He has almost no morals. And the evolution of his character happens slowly over the entire series. He bares his teeth often, loves his shiny guns, and fights much bigger dogs because that's all he knows how to do. He makes several appearances throughout the series. I love some books more than others and next year we get a new story arc. hehe.
"I'm an assassin. A killer-for-hire. If you have the money, I'll do the job. I like puppies, kids and Christmas, but I don't give a shit about your story-or your problems." (Hunter's Moon, ch. 1)

Oh boy. My sidekicks jumped in with the same answer to this week's challenge. And they're both from my Touched Girl series. Those who have read the books know exactly who they picked, so I'll leave it at. But I will share the conversation I had with my sister.
"Shan, time for this week's sidekick challenge."
"I have a quote."
"Wait."
"No, I have a quote for this week's sidekick."
"Shannon, you don't even know the theme yet."
"Robyn, I have a damn quote."
"Okay."
.....(I guess I was supposed to write the quote down)....(I do know it's from First Grave on the Right)
"Isn't that funny?"
"Yeah, but the theme is bad guy turned good."
"Oh."

(I will update this post with the quote.)

    1. I almost picked a certain someone from the VA series, but then I worried it would be too big of a spoiler. I told my sister who I might go with and she just stared blankly. Big oops. She's two books behind on Vampire Academy and hasn't started Bloodlines. My bad.

    2. I did manage to come up with a more appropriate candidate...Aphrodite from the House of Night series. I didn't want to give any spoilers...

    3. Oh, you sneaked an extra pick in there.

  2. You got your revenge, Robyn! I can't read yours either :D So, this series is on my TBR - and I haven't gotten to it yet, and I get that there's a bad boy gone good in it, and it's a fun series. Is all of that correct?

    I hope you're having a good weekend, Robyn :)

    1. No spoilers, I promise. My quote is from page one. You can read it! Also no spoilers from my own sidekicks. My plan to get my sister to eventually start her own blog is moving along steadily. What fun those battles will be!

  3. Hehehehehe - Love the convo with your sister, and since I love that book I am guessing it was a great quote she found.

Excellent choice! Of course I know which ones your family picked and I agree with their picks as well.

I really like how you said she's a bit of a wussy and the fact that he transforms over so many books is what makes it so good. Love the quotes!

    1. It is so much fun talking to Shan about the sidekicks. She's gone from citing movies to offering picks two and three days after I posted the meme. "Oh, oh, I want to choose..." "No, Shan. Too late." "Too late? No, I pick..." She knows I'm going to blog about it and that my silly brain memorizes conversations (made me awesome to be married to). She needs her own blog. That's my current underhanded plot with her. It's totally top secret, can you tell? hehe.

  4. Okay Robyn, this is a series I'll have to check out as I've never heard of it! ;) But Tony does seem to make for an interesting bad guy gone good!

As for your sidekicks' choice - I'll just have to say I completely agree! And I'm sure your sister's quote was great. If only you'd written it down, you could have saved it for use later! LOL

    Hope you're having a grand weekend! :)

    1. Oh, I think you might like the Sazi series. Have you read Nalini Singh's Psy-Changling series? Different writing styles, but a world of shifters, plots, and hotties.

I told my sister to comment on my blog with the quote...a lure you see. It hasn't worked yet, but it will.

My weekend is moving at a slow, unproductive pace and yet I feel pretty relaxed. No complaints here. I hope yours it hitting the right spot for you!

  5. Here is my quote. The lead (Charley) is talking sarcastically to a co-worker about her lady parts. "My fore-parts, as you so ineloquently put it, have names." (Charley) pointed to her right breast. "This is Danger." Then she pointed to her left. "And this is Will Robinson. I would appreciate it if you addressed them accordingly."--First Grave on the Right, Darynda Jones, pg 117. I love this new series.

    1. No time to chat, Shan? Just drop the quote and leave? hehe. Jaclyn said she loves this series too. I'm glad you're reading a book that is so fun. I like her attitude. Hell, I like anyone who names her boobs.

    2. It looks bad when you delete your comment. I had misspellings and wanted to edit it. Oh well. I love the humor in the series. The 1st and 2nd books are due tomorrow. I haven't started the 2nd yet. But I have already reserved the 3rd and 4th. I don't know what I am doing...:0

    3. Ah, the library conundrum. I say you return them all. Start The Hollows, book 1 and then check out book 2 in a couple weeks. I know you will not take my advice because you are a turd. hehe.
