When life's kicking your butt, how about a theme song? [10] #ACLFest

Jennifer @ Donnie Darko Girl inspired this month's theme song challenge because the girl absolutely loves the Austin City Limits Music Festival. So check out the list and go nuts! The second I saw OutKast I thought of Hey Ya! because Will used to ask me to replay the song over and over. It was so dang fun to sing along with him (when he let me).

I'm hoping October is a bit more easy going than the last few months. I'm sort of overwhelmed at the moment with just about everything. The mom gig is plain tough right now. On the bright side, the story ideas keep hitting me and I thought maybe I should venture into some short fiction just to feed the beast. I hope to dive back into the blogging waters soon. I miss you all!

    1. Athina! I'm still thinking about your firefly post. That was so good. Is this the crazy dark story that's been spinning around and around?

    2. Thank you, Robyn!
It is! And the more I write, the more it surprises me. Plus I still don't have a name for the MC. 10000 words and still nothing. It's beautifully strange. :)

  3. I'm a fan of Austin City Limits as well - but I have to watch it on PBS. :) As soon as I saw the theme though, I thought of Jennifer because we've discussed bands we saw there. I think she saw Muse!! Anywho, I know exactly what song I'm going to use for this month. And it'll help you get into that little book you mentioned. ;) No, not the one you're going to write but the one you're going to read.

I hope things calm down for you as well. I know it's tough, but gut up! *haha* You never know how strong you are until you have to be. (okay, I'll stop with the expressions and phrases) I miss you!!

    1. I totally tell myself to gut up now, of course I say it when I'm about to cry and in public and I need to crack myself up.

I didn't know ACLFest was on PBS. I haven't been to a festival in many years or any concert. How old is Will?

I can't wait for our pick! I'm thinking it will be that cute guy who you told me about that you saw on the BB trip. See all my fabulous specifics. That's my brain after work. I miss you too!!!

  4. I miss you too!! The first month back to school is always a hassle. But since it's now whining down to the end of the year hopefully it doesn't get as bad as it did(?)

  5. First of all, thanks so much for featuring ACL Fest this month!! And I love how you guys think of me right away when you hear about it, lol. I do love that festival - already making plans to go back next year. :D

It KILLS me I didn't get to see much of Outkast, and the reason for that is because Beck played at the same time at the other end of the park. So it was a really hard decision to make, but I ended up watching Beck and then caught the end of Outkast. I didn't get to hear them perform this song live, but I did hear that song that goes "Cause the whole, world, loves it when you don't get down..." Remember that song? I forgot they sang it! I finally published my choice! :D
