Sidekick Saturday [3] Violent!

Sidekick Saturday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Jaclyn at JC's Book Haven. There are many secondary characters that are as great as the primaries. In some cases, the sidekicks actually steal the show and you like them better than the heroine or hero. Maybe they didn't have enough page time for how great they were. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Choose a sidekick *or someone other than the hero or heroine* that you would like to put in the spotlight that fits in this week's type
• Share a picture and information about the character
• Give the title and author of a book the character can be found in
• Please don't include too many spoilers when describing why the character is such a great sidekick
• Put your link in the Linky thing and comment

This week's sidekick type is - Violent! Grrh!
Jaclyn at JC's Book Haven selected Ares from Percy Jackson. I haven't read the books, but I read her excerpts and I totally agree. Ares is one violent dude. He's the kind of guy who cleans his fingernails with his big freakin' knife.
So let's get on with VIOLENT!

My pick this week doesn't need no stinkin' knife cause he's crazy, brilliant, and has a habit of stealing brains to power his steampunk bloodthirsty computer. Wonder who in the world of books I'm talking about? Myrnin that's who. Wonderful, hungry, always ready to turn red-eyed and fangy Myrnin is just one of the many colorful cast members from Rachel Caine's world of Morganville. The series starts with Glass Houses-one of my favorites, and follows the lives of Claire, Eve, Michael (hunka-hunka), and Shane (my favorite messed up, angsty good guy). They're like the scooby gang, except the coppers never pull off the monsters' masks because the monsters never get nabbed. In Morganville Texas, good luck finding a fanger you don't want to stake! The good guys get in heaps of trouble. They often run away. Sometimes they bleed. Once in a while they scream. And what's Myrnin's role in all this? Usually he's causing the screaming and bleeding and fleeing, but when he's not a bowl full of crazy, he's sweet and charming and vulnerable. All you ladies out there who love a train wreck, here's your boy! Here's one way into his heart, buy him vampire bunny slippers.

  1. This is so awesome that I don't even know what to say about it. I love the fang bunny slippers. I can't believe Claire gave him the idea for those. Eve loves him in the pirate boots. Remember when he locked Eve in a freezer for safe keeping? Talk about unintentionally violent. Excellent choice!! Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven

  2. Yes, I love your Sidekick Saturdays. I had to work for this one. I wanted to pick Eric from True Blood, but I stopped reading that series before Harris fiddled with the way I wanted things to go. Now we just need to get everyone else to play too because these are so fun! Happy Sunday.
